Charlie

This adorable little deer mouse was found by my brother's friend Dan when my family went to a church camp in Maine last summer. I guess he was half buried in the sand under my family's cabin and struggling around. We were trying to decide what to name him when I suggested Charlie (it was also while hurricane Charley was going on, so that's kind-of why I named him that but I also just thought it was cute) and they all agreed. We put some sand in a Tupperware container and put him in there with some sunflower seeds and carrots, and a Dasani water bottle cap full of water. At first he wouldn't move for a while, but then he started moving around and eating and stuff. It looked like his leg was broken or something, but after a while he hopped right out of the container and across the lawn. I wish I had though to take pictures while he was in the container, but like the dummy I am I didn't; luckily I got some while he was sitting still in the grass! My brother wanted to keep him but I said they should let him go. So that's the story of Charlie the mouse.
